Murder Suspect has Sabine County Ties

On Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at approximately 10:56AM, the Shelby County Sheriff’s Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting that a white female had been shot and was on the floor of Lil’ Goats Liquor Store located on FM #138 near the Stockman Community in Shelby County.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a hospital in Nacogdoches where she was pronounced dead.  Reports indicate the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was identified as 57-year-old Bobbie Lynn Carlton, who was the owner and operator of the store.

A  Capital Murder warrant has been issued for Roger Dale Clifton, Jr., a white male born August 27, 1979.  Information received indicates that he has ties to Sabine County.  He should be considered armed and dangerous.  If sighted do not approach but contact the nearest law enforcement agency.

The suspect was last seen driving a 2003 Silver Pontiac Grand AM with a sunroof and rear spoiler.  There were no license plates but it did have a paper tag from Wells Auto sales in Carthage, Tex.

Anyone with any information relating to this incident is asked to call EasTex Crime Stoppers at 409-720-8501.  Remember you will NOT be asked your name and you could earn cash reward.
