Jury Selection in Sex Assault Trial Today

Jury selection begins today in the trial of Jesse Wayne Turley, 29, of Hemphill who was indicted by the Sabine County Grand Jury on charges of aggravated sexual assault of a child under 14 years old. 

The charge is a first-degree felony and is punishable by imprisonment of not less than 5 years, up to 99 years, or life in prison and up to a $10,000 fine.

Under the U.S. constitution, persons are innocent until proven guilty.

The trial will be conducted in 273^rd District Court at the courthouse in Hemphill.
