Burn Ban Still in Effect

San Augustine and Sabine Counties are still under a county wide burn ban. 

Any type of outdoor burning is strictly prohibited.   

County and fire department officials urge residents to attend one of the numerous fireworks shows in the area rather than using them individually. 

Officials warn that persons causing a wildfire may be subject to criminal penalties and liable for costs associated with damaged property and fighting the fire.
