Hemphill Lifts Boil Water Notice, G-M Still in Effect

The boil water notice put into effect on Wednesday by the City of Hemphill has been lifted.

Samples taken late yesterday show the water has been cleared of possible contaminates and is now safe to drink once again.

The water line break that caused the City to implement the notice also required G-M Water Supply to initiate a boil water notice, which remains in effect.

A spokesperson with G-M Water Supply said they expect to life the notice, which affects Highway 87 south of Hemphill and the Six Mile area, FM 944 and Highway 184 west of Hemphill, to be lifted by the middle of next week.
